A new list of goods that cannot be shipped by international mail - GBSI - Global Business Service Information
The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has determined a list of goods that are not subject to shipment for international mail.
The list will work synchronously with the rules of the Universal Postal Union, without replacing them. It was developed in order to update the EAEU law in the field of customs regulation.
Recently, the volume of goods sent by international mail has increased significantly due to the operation of electronic trading platforms and online stores. At the same time, there was no single List, which had a negative impact on the business environment and created risks when sending such goods, including by individuals.
The decision of the EEC in one document defines an exhaustive list of goods that are not subject to shipment in international mail by all categories of persons, which creates transparency in this matter.
Prior to the adoption of the List, the shipment of goods in international mail was regulated, together with the acts of the Universal Postal Union, by Decision of the Customs Union Commission No. 338 dated August 17, 2010 (for legal entities) and the national legislation of the EAEU countries (for individuals).
The adopted Decision invalidates the Decision of the Customs Union Commission No. 338 dated August 17, 2010 “On the specifics of sending goods in international mail”.
Information about the specific list will be available after the official publication of the document.
