The Government has extended for a year the simplified procedure for confirming the conformity of imported and manufactured imported products - GBSI - Global Business Service Information
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed Resolution No. 1196 dated August 31, 2024 “On Amendments to Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 353 dated March 12, 2022”, which extends the simplified procedure for confirming the conformity of products with the requirements of technical regulations, as well as national and interstate standards when importing them from abroad or releasing them into circulation on the territory of countries before September 1, 2025.
The resolution refers to goods that previously required certification and declaration procedures, which took a lot of time. In March 2022, the Government allowed manufacturers and exporters of such goods to use a simplified procedure – they had to submit declarations of conformity of goods based on their own evidence, without conducting lengthy laboratory tests according to Government Decree No. 353 of March 12, 2022.
After submitting the declaration under the simplified scheme and putting products on the market, manufacturers and exporters have six months to confirm that the goods comply with the requirements of the technical regulations of the EAEU or the requirements of Russian legislation in the field of technical regulation. This procedure made it possible to reduce the risks of low-quality products entering the market and at the same time reduce the burden on business.
