Amendments have been made to the Treaty on the EAEU - GBSI - Global Business Service Information
The Protocol of 11/21/2023 amends the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union of May 29, 2014 in terms of transferring the amounts of import customs duties between the EAEU member States.
The amendments provide that the central banks of the EAEU member states may, by mutual agreement on a temporary basis for a period not exceeding 2 years, establish that the amounts of counter obligations arising from January 1, 2022 in US dollars can be transferred in Russian rubles at official rates established by the national (central) bank, which is the payer of the specified amounts.
Mutual settlements between Member States can also be carried out in Russian rubles at established official exchange rates.
The provisions of the Protocol apply to legal relations that have arisen since January 1, 2022.
The Protocol shall enter into force from the date of receipt by the depositary through diplomatic channels of the last written notification on the implementation by the Member States of the internal procedures necessary for its entry into force, and is valid until May 31, 2024 inclusive.
